Specific elements include: teaching wilderness living skills, off-trail route finding, adjusting backpacks, fixing stoves, guiding loaded rafts through rapids, facilitating fun games and activities to a group, managing a top rope site or guiding a difficult discussion of the group's dynamics.
Qualifications: Previous experience leading groups in the wilderness. Training from NOLS, OB, or college outdoor programs a plus.
